‘Assassin’s Creed Revelations’ Trailer Blowout: Hookblade & Beta Stats

With just over a month to go until Assassin’s Creed: Revelations is released, Ubisoft is basking in the hype by releasing three new trailers for the fourth console title in the Assassin’s Creed franchise.

The three latest trailers for Assassin’s Creed: Revelations show off not only a new weapon and some single player footage, but some very impressive beta stats.

While some may consider the Revelations Beta extension as a way to fluff up the multiplayer stats, there are still some very impressive numbers in there for a beta that lasted just under two weeks. You can read our preview of the multiplayer beta here.

Ubisoft has been showing off a lot of the Revelations multiplayer lately, especially with the warm critical reception that Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood received for it’s multiplayer modes. The cat-and-mouse gameplay was certainly refreshing to some players.

Of course, while there are some that love Assassin’s Creed multiplayer, there is also a good portion of people that buy the games for the single player component, and rightfully so, considering the first two games were single player only.

Fear not, as Ubisoft has also released a trailer featuring single player campaign footage. While the trailer is light on plot, it does feature a ton of combat that should be enough to tide a few people over until the game releases next month.

Ubisoft has also unveiled a trailer for a new weapon in Assassin’s Creed: Revelations — the Hookblade. The Hookblade operates in a similar manor to the already iconic hidden blade from Assassin’s Creed, though with more versatility. The Hookblade, true to its name, is shaped like a hook, which allows for Ezio to better scale objects or even be used to make zip lines a method of transportation. The Hookblade also allows for better pick pocketing and has a few combat bonuses, such as the ability to throw enemies.

Unfortunately, PC gamers hyped up for Assassin’s Creed: Revelations should dial down their anticipation just a bit, as Ubisoft has announced that the PC version of Revelations will be delayed until December, with no finite release date given. This should really come as no surprise considering how many PC titles Ubisoft has delayed as of late — though it still unfortunate for any PC gamer looking to join in on the mayhem this November.

Assassin’s Creed: Revelations releases November 15th, 2011 on the PS3 and Xbox 360 and in December on the PC.
